MODERN ELEGANT PERTH WEDDING | TARNEE AND JOHN | JOONDALUP RESORT

I headed to the girls room first at Joondalup Resort to say hi to Tarnee and her bridesmaids before quickly heading over to John's room. He was the only one dressed up, and was on notice that something special was about to happen. Tarnee had organised a very special gift for him, a locket on his boutonniere in memory of his brother, who sadly passed away. That way he could carry him next to his heart all day.

Heading back to the girls while the other boys got ready, I found out John had also got Tarnee a present! Hidden in a massive box under an old doona cover, Tarnee found another box, this one with a DSLR camera! Future career as a wedding photographer Tarnee?

I went down to the ceremony location, outside the new conference building, which looks beautiful, the blue of the sky reflecting off the glass windows, and the limestone walls reminiscent of Parliament House in Perth CBD. A Joondalup Resort wedding now offers a range of new location portrait and ceremony spots, which is a welcome change in my book, and a chance to do something different.

The lovely Dru Soltys was the celebrant and I always love working with Dru since he knows exactly when to step out of the photo and give the couple a chance to be by themselves. He also leads a funny, emotional and sweet service. The new 'aisle' that everyone walks down looks amazing at the moment with all the spring flowers out in force.

With portraits at the new building as well as in some lovely bushland spots where the light trickled through the trees, we finished up early, and that gave Tarnee and John and their bridal party a chance to relax in Bistro 38 and catch up with family before the pre dinner drinks at the reception.

A simple yet modern and elegant reception in the Lakeside Marquee, overlooking the pool with a perfect cocktail hour at sunset.

PERSONAL TRAINING AND SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY | EMMA AT OH LA LA MUMMY FITNESS

Earlier in the year, I did a photoshoot for Emma at Oh La La Mummy. I have been going to Em's classes in Melville for years and can't recommend her highly enough. I loved our shoot and so, heading into spring, we decided to do another shoot focusing on her participants. So coming up next week, I'll be showing off some of the lovely ladies doing Boxfit, Metafit and doing cross training sessions.

A big part of what Emma focuses on is being so inclusive of mums and their children and babies. Whether you're pregnant, have toddlers or kindy kids, she always works hard to be accepting, tolerant, helpful and more importantly, adapting your training to suit your needs at the time.

Being a mum of two girls herself, and running her own business, she knows how life can get quite hectic. Finding a suitable time to fit in exercise can be difficult. Emma offers 1:1 sessions and a variety of group training, to help make it possible for other mums to get fit again, stay fit and find the right time to make it happen. The group sessions are supportive and friendly (the social aspect is a key motivator for me!) with other like-minded women and they are a great chance to bring the kids along and have a play with the other little ones in the fresh air.

I look forward to showing you the group session photos next week, but for now, meet Emma Hatch!
