Donna and Craig's wedding in late November was blessed with a warm, sunny albeit windy day. The ceremony was held at Jabe Dodd Park in Mosman Park overlooking the river and tucked away from the wind...mostly ;) Donna is starting up her own wedding and event coordination business (Bliss Events) and therefore organised some amazing things for the wedding, from decorations at the ceremony, to her invitations and reception details. Flowers by Michelle handled the floral arrangements and bouquets which I thought were just gorgeous. I love peonies! I have to recommend the ceremony musicians (contact Melody 0437 880 854) who played a live acoustic set, even after the ceremony, as the guests enjoyed a relaxing afternoon while we went to Kings Park for portraits. The gorgeous venue Mosmans Restaurant (one of my favourites) hosted the reception. I love this venue as there is a great area for pre dinner drinks and guests can be seated when ready. The tables always look amazing, the dancefloor is in the middle of the action, the staff are great and the food is delicious. Can't recommend Mosmans highly enough! You can find another gorgeous wedding which I photographed at Mosmans on this wedding photography post.
I loved photographing Donna and Craig - the obvious love, affection, cheekiness and laughter that flowed between them on the day was magic in front of the camera. Shannon and I both commented on how cute Donna's smile was - we didn't see her stop smiling all day. Their vows to each other were soooo special - some of the best I've ever heard. It really makes a difference when you make your vows personalised.
After we went to Kings Park for portraits we stopped by in East Perth to use the gorgeous colours of the Jacarandas which were out in force and the creamy colours of the townhouses in the background. There are some really special locations in Perth for wedding photographers and this is one of my favourites.
I have to also mention the amazing comic book style stories that were designed by a friend of Donna's and organised by her company Bliss Events. I will have to get the details for you because I just thought it was the most unique and gorgeous idea. They told the story of how Donna and Craig met and ended with their wedding and their 'happily ever after'. It was a lovely thought to let all the guests know the exact story of their romance :)
