Simone and John

Wow, Saturday was such a stunning wedding. It was so lovely to be a part of it. Simone had everything planned meticulously and I’m pretty sure it all went according to that plan! From the entrance to Fiona, the soloist, singing Nessun Dorma to the exit through the Guards of Honour, the ceremony at St George’s Chapel is one I will remember for a long time. Very special indeed. The love between these two is tangible - they are enraptured with each other.

We had lots of fun at St George’s College for portraits and popped over to UWA for a few more. Then onto the reception at Darlington Winery in the hills where the wonderful atmosphere continued with family and friends and the very smooth tones of Cafe Society.

Congratulations again Simone and John - I look forward to showing you the rest very soon!

Mr and Mrs Chamberlain

Ah, I love weddings…

Congratulations Teagan and Dave!!!! This will stay as a favourite for a long time - fun and laughter all around - especially at the reception. My highlights of the day - Kayla, their 6 month old, being fanned and sprayed with water in an attempt to keep cool (poor darling), Dave trying to hold his ‘emotions’ in check during the ring exchange (I will say no more), Taryn nearly falling in a swamp by catching her heel in the wooden slats on the walkway, Teagan forgetting to thank Claire, her flautist, in the speeches (see photo below) and Dave and Goose’s interesting dance moves.

A massive thank you to the beautiful couple - I had a wonderful time and hope you love the photos, but also to the bridal party who looked after Teagan and Dave so well. You were also very caring and thoughtful to me too, so thanks to Taryn, Eileen, Sam and Dean!

I wish you and your families all the best for 2009. I can officially say this is my favourite wedding of the year so far. Hehe

Warning - lots of pics!!

I love this one - it looks like Teagan is looking over his shoulder - cute or creepy? lol

Help me Mrs Photographer Lady!!

Thanks Mum…

Awww…looks so cute until I found out just before this shot was taken, Teagan was stuffing her gum in her bouquet!!

Waiting for his bride.

Going in for the kiss!

Kayla formed a big part of the ceremony - she let go of the three balloons. Three separate entities joined together as a family.

Jo and Sean - Married at beautiful Cottesloe

I have a bit of a soft spot for these two and their intimate and laid-back wedding as it was so similar to mine. Jo and Sean decided to come out to Perth for a holiday with their little boy, and get married at the same time with their closest friends. It turned out to be a stunning day with Perth putting on its best show for the newlyweds. The ceremony was held at the Arch Monument at Cottesloe which features a stunning backdrop of the Indian Ocean. The friends relaxed together after the location portraits at the Indiana Teahouse.

Big thanks go to Jenn at The Original Wedding Company for making the day flow so smoothly and to Carolyn Smith, the wonderful celebrant.

Congratulations Jo and Sean - I wish you all the best for the future. xxx

Dad’s little girl no more.

I’m editing Yusri and Mastura’s images at the moment and taking my time as I remember all the great moments of the day. This moment in particular made me shed a tear behind the camera on the day (yes I’m overemotional but I don’t care anymore). Mastura’s father congratulates his new son-in-law and moves on to hug Mastura. They hold each other for a while and I don’t think Mastura wanted to let go, realising that ‘this was it’. Her dad bowed his head while she looked so vulnerable. It’s such a beautiful moment and this is why I love what I do.

In the decades to come, their children will be able to view the emotion felt on their parents’ wedding day and the ties that the family has. As I get older I’m starting to treasure the images from my childhood and seeing my parents in their youth. My father is getting older and I know one day that my pictures (and the camera he gave me) will be all I have left. Wow, I’m a mess even writing this - stupid emotional woman!!
