Planning the next trip…

Okay I whimpered a bit to my hubby last night. ‘Come on, lets plan the next holiday already. I know we’ve just been on one, but we have to just book it or we won’t get around to it.’

Sooo…next stop Vietnam! Hopefully in June next year (off peak wedding season!). I have always wanted to go to Halong Bay so this is it! We won’t be taking all the kids this time. Just the Chunk. Tobes and Amber can stay with their respective parents (see, stepfamilies do work!)

I can’t wait! Bring on my tax refund - it will be paying for the tickets! woo hoo

Just so the big kids don’t miss out, we’ll be taking them to Kalbarri in late Jan for a week. Wow, 3 holidays within a year, I’m doin’ well. I am a bit of a traveller for those that don’t know me and want to see as much as I can before my number’s up. Anyone who tells you that it’s impossible with kids is lying. It can be done; it just brings a different dimension to the travelling. I find, especially in SE Asia, that having kids is a way into the culture. Sooo many Thai people wanted to talk to the kids, play with Charlie and it was our way of getting to know them. Some Thai girls even picked Charlie up and gave him a cuddle, then went off to show their friends. Once you got over the ‘where are you taking my baby?’ issue, it became hilarious how popular he was.

Here’s one such incident - although Chunk doesn’t look too happy. Not his type maybe…He’s so picky with women!

I want to go back…

Ah, Patong Beach. Excuse the quality - although it’s pretty good from an old point and shoot! Just a bit grainy. I wish I could just click my fingers and just go back for the night even. Love it!

Butterfly Girl

Had to post this beautiful image of Amber from Kings Park on Saturday. Sooo cute!

The Wedding of Kim and Alex

Wow what a beautiful day we had yesterday. Kim has been one of the most organised brides I have ever met and everything pretty much ran perfectly! We have been in touch so much over the past few months that by the time the wedding rolled around, I felt more like a family friend photographing their wedding - and thank you to all the lovely family and friends who made me feel that way too. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with you all.

Kim and Alex had their lovely intimate ceremony at Amberley Gardens in Baldivis which is a gorgeous, private, colourful venue. A photographer’s dream location. The chapel was sooo cute and the gardens immaculate. I can’t recommend it enough! The gorgeous and amusing ladies at Total Brides had the girls looking lovely.

The reception was held at Emma’s on the Boardwalk on the Rockingham foreshore (which of course I have a soft spot for!) and the food was delish and service impeccable. A big thank you to the talented ladies of Wonderful with Wine. I don’t think the Star Wars theme was played, although repeatedly requested by a certain young man! The Simpsons rendition was fab though. The stunning bouquets were by Majestic Flowers and the um, interesting cake (as you will see) was by Kelly’s Cake Art. Love that caketopper Kim and Alex!

I’ve spent the day going through all the photos and there are so many I want to post here! The online gallery will be up under the ‘client area’ on my website in 2-3 weeks and there will be many, many pictures to look at there. So for now, here are some of my favourites in a gallery format as there are so many! Click on them to view larger images.

Congratulations Kim and Alex and I can’t wait to cuddle the new arrival!

New toys…

Oooh, I am such a naughty, naughty photographer lady (okay that just made me sound extremely eccentric!) and I have just bought myself an early Christmas present. Maybe it could be a Halloween present - wow I can justify anything!!

I’ve had my eye on the 135L f/2 Canon lens for a while now and have heard such amazing things about it. Perfect for wedding ceremonies and portraits with amazing bokeh. Can anyone say yummy? So I took the plunge and should have it in time for my 1st November wedding. I can’t wait! Is anyone else out there a total gearhead? (sorry, talking to the photographers there!!)

I also can’t wait to get my little paws on the new 5D Mk II, due out late November/early December - now that I can definitely justify as an early Christmas present. I have one on pre-order already so it will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine. BAHAHAHAHAHA (Rubbing hands together)

Anyway, back to my current purchase - I will share piccies as soon as I can! And just because I don’t like posting without pictures - here’s another one from Phuket. My hubby told the kids to pull ugly faces - well he asked for it!!! Amber looks especially lovely due to the fact she has lost two teeth recently!
